Foulkeways at Gwynedd has been setting the standards of excellence in retirement communities since 1967 when our not-for-profit community was established through the dedicated efforts of Gwynedd Meeting and in affiliation with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). This "friendly community" was the first Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Pennsylvania and the first Quaker retirement community in the nation.

Policy and management at Foulkeways are guided by our dedicated Board of Directors who serve without compensation and have broad experience in commerce, law and social services. Their vision, involvement, consensus, and strategic planning are responsible for the successful completion of many goals addressing past and future needs of the community. In addition to honoring the Quaker values of respecting the equality and dignity of each individual, the Board is guided by the Mission Statement shown below:

The Mission of Foulkeways at Gwynedd is to provide community life for older persons who want to maintain or improve their quality of life and security within a framework of mutual caring and Quaker values.

Our community is enriched by the diversity of residents and staff. In addition, our admissions policies are governed by non-discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or economic resources. In other words, all are welcome at Foulkeways.

One of the many comforts of living at Foulkeways Continuing Care Retirement Community is the knowledge that you will receive the highest level of quality health care, regardless of your changing needs. And should those needs include assisted living or skilled nursing care, you will receive the care you require in either Abington House or Gwynedd House located on the Foulkeways campus.

  • Affordable living accommodations

  • Full health cares

  • Pharmaceutical allowance

  • And much more
  • We believe that our strong financial base, our unmatched amenities and services among retirement communities and our long, successful history offer you the security and peace of mind so important in choosing a retirement community you will one day call, "home."
