Abington House, Foulkeways new award-winning Assisted Living residence, offers 53 two-room suites for residents needing supplementary assistance with daily life skills such as dressing, bathing, medication management and other tasks. Resident suites are arranged into small neighborhoods to promote community/social interactions in specially designed neighborhood living and dining areas, created to foster and encourage a sense of camaraderie. Each private, two-room suite includes:
a keepsake nook outside each door
a spacious living room and bedroom
kitchenette with combination mini refrigerator/ freezer
a large walk-in closet
a large, private bathroom with walk-in shower
a secure medication drawer in the bathroom
in-room linen storage
a deck or patio overlooking a courtyard or garden.
Primary care is provided by a full-time nurse practitioner and staff physicians, affiliated with Abington Memorial Hospital, and specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics, with referrals to specialists as needed.
Additionally, Foulkeways Memory Support Neighborhood serves as a structured, supportive environment for residents with Alzheimer's Disease or other cognitive disorders, it features special programming and structured, safe, one-bedroom apartments with free access to all areas of this secured neighborhood, including a specially designed, outdoor courtyard.
Per Diem stays are dependent on availability for individuals who do not have a continuing care contract with Foulkeways. Rates and contacts are listed under the Rates page.
