Since its inception, Foulkeways has consistently listened to the preferences of incoming community members. Given the constant shift in people’s expectations, changes to our campus have been continuous. Today’s expectations are so different from those of the first residents who entered our community. In 1967 our smaller apartments were the first occupied. Today’s residents desire more space, not less, and our requests for two-bedrooms plus dens and cottages far outweigh demands for our smaller apartments. These same expectations have also propelled our continuing project of combining smaller apartments on campus to form larger units. To date, a total of 24 smaller apartments have been combined to create 12 larger, two-bedroom apartments.
In 1967 our campus consisted of 67 acres, today we occupy 110. Change has been continuous as residents expectations have shifted. A new neighborhood of 26 two-bedroom plus den apartments, with full basements and one-car attached garages was pre-sold before the first new residents moved in.
