My research focuses on the use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) in patients with sleep problems, specifically Restless Legs Syndrome. Since RLS is not correctly diagnosed until older age, my focus is on gerontological perspectives of both CAM and RLS.

Heart failure remains the most common cardiac diagnosis in elders and one of the major reasons for hospital admission. Dr. Riegel provides national and international leadership in clinical research with this patient population. She is widely known for her studies of heart failure self-care and disease management and is currently Editor of Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing. |
