Remember to Set Your Clocks Back
Daylight Saving Time 2026 ends on Sunday, November 1, at 2:00 A.M. At that time, clocks move back one hour.
Most people set their clocks back before going to bed on Saturday night, so they wake up on the correct time Sunday morning. As a result, sunrise and sunset occur one hour earlier, which brings more daylight to the morning hours.
“Spring Forward, Fall Back”
A simple way to remember Daylight Saving Time is the phrase “Spring forward, Fall back.”
Why We Use Daylight Saving Time
Originally, leaders introduced Daylight Saving Time to make better use of daylight and reduce energy use. Today, many communities still follow this system because it helps align daylight hours with daily routines.
Did You Know?
Daylight Saving Time begins each year on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.
However, the schedule looked different in the past. Until 2005, Daylight Saving Time ran from the first Sunday in April through the last Sunday in October. In 2007, federal legislation extended the schedule to its current dates.
