Music & Memory ®
The Music & Memory® program, founded in 2008, developed a program of creating personalized playlists for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Studies have found the creation of personalized playlists is a therapeutic mechanism to address measurable improvement in mood, awareness, and quality of life for people with dementia. It has also been found to help facilitate attention, reward, and motivation and have improved swallowing in individuals with advanced dementia. Foulkeways is a Music & Memory® Certified Care organization. Our staff receives advanced level training to create customized playlists for the residents for them to listen to and enjoy.
