Our skilled nursing home in Gwynedd is connected to our main campus and our personal care facility by ‘Main Street,’ a quarry stone walkway created to provide a sense of community to Foulkeways residents living in both Abington House and Gwynedd House. Our senior rehabilitation and activities centers are also a part of Gwynedd House, serving the needs of the entire community.

Each of our large, private rooms in our skilled nursing facility include:

  • a home-like environment with abundant natural light
  • large private bathroom
  • spacious, walk-in closet
  • and a keepsake nook outside each door.

Rooms are arranged into four neighborhoods, consisting of eleven rooms each. Each neighborhood has its own Care Center, living area, kitchen, and family-style dining room, to foster the feel of apartment home living and promote the benefits of daily interpersonal interactions among residents.

Foulkeways ‘Resident-Centered’ skilled care creates a comfortable environment for residents without the hospital feel so often associated with other nursing homes. Residents in Gwynedd House receive individualized care based on carefully monitored, personalized, health assessments, designed to not only provide comprehensive senior care services but to also honor residents’ lifelong practices and preferences.

Dream Garden

The Dream Garden memory garden is connected to Abington House North. The garden is planted with seasonal native plantings and includes landmarks with benches to stop and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, view sculptures, listen to a waterfall, or have a snack or beverage at a community table.

The pathways are wheelchair accessible and are intentionally created to be white for easy navigation as you journey through the garden. In addition, there is no blacktop and no steps. The oversized deck was built flush with the path to make it accessible to walkers and wheelchairs and to prevent missteps. The Dream Garden memory garden is secure and easily accessible for all to enjoy.
